I had received a PR package from the brand Dot & Key some time back which I had posted on Insta. You can check out the post here. So here am going to share my thoughts on the first product that grabbed my attention and made me fall in love with the brand. Its the Dot & Key Skin Cleansing Steam Balm with Neroli & Lime. How to use

Scoop out a sufficient amount of the makeup cleansing balm using spatula
Massage in the makeup remover balm till all the makeup melts.
Use a hot towel to clean the face, and remove excess oiliness from skin.
(Rinse eyes with water after, if required)

First of all, let us take some time to admire the packaging of Dot & Key Skin Cleansing Steam Balm. It comes in this cute sky-blue colored pot with a white cap. The pot comes housed in a blue-colored square cardboard box. The design is so beautiful. I have never seen this kinda cute packaging in any other brand. So so pretty. They have also provide a tiny spatula along with it. I feel like a munchkin using this ????. Hats off to the brand for such an innovative packaging. They also have stickers on both sides of the box edges to indicate that it is a fresh, unopened package. You can check in the image above.

For the past one year, I have been following double cleansing strictly. I use a cleansing oil or cleansing milk and then follow up with a face wash. I was recently using Votre 3 in 1 Cleansing Milk which got over. I was looking to buy some other cleansing oil/balm when I received this from the brand for testing.

Dot & Key Skin Cleansing Steam Balm is white in color and has a thick, luxurious, balmy consistency. It has a very wonderful and refreshing scent of lime with neroli. A dash of citrusy zest just makes you feel so relaxed while using it.

As soon I reach home in the evening from office, the first thing I do for my skin is use this balm. I just scoop out a tiny amount of Dot & Key Skin Cleansing Steam Balm in the spatula provided. A ¼th of the spatula is all that is needed for one use as its thick and creamy. I just massage my face with the balm for a minute thoroughly to melt away all the dirt, impurities and sunscreen. It feels super relaxing at the end of a day due to presence of neroli and lime. I just feel all the stress of the day melting away with it.

I leave it on my face for some time while I go about doing my other activities like scrolling through Insta, ordering dinner, taking a bath. This gives ample time for the cleansing balm to stay on my face so I can reap the full benefits of it. Finally, I use a hot towel to wipe it off and then wash with a herbal face wash. My face feels thoroughly cleansed and soft and nourished. My pores feel clean and purified. Usually I tend to get a lot of clogged pores. But double cleansing with this balm has prevented clogged pores a lot and left my face squeaky clean. Sometimes I don’t use the hot towel and it still works fine. This contains macadamia nut oil, argan oil, almond oil and vitamin E which provide nourishment to your skin and make it baby soft. I personally love anything with macadamia nut oil in it as I think it works magic on my skin.

This is a makeup cleansing balm which removes stubborn long stay makeup easily. I have tested Dot & Key Skin Cleansing Steam Balm on simple makeup like BB cream and lipstick and it does work in removing them completely. But this cleansing balm is not just for makeup removing. IMO, you need to double cleanse whether or not you wear makeup. Sunscreens doesn’t usually dissolve fully with face washes. Also make sure you applying this on your lips and removing your lip balm. Most lip balms contain SPF and chemicals and they are on our lips throughout the day. So cleansing our lips with a balm is important. So you can use this whether or not you are makeup person.

Apart from deep cleansing my skin and pores, Dot & Key Skin Cleansing Steam Balm has also improved the texture of my skin a lot. My rough, patchy skin feels smooth like a butter gloss now. And I just love the addition of neroli and lime to it which gives the fresh, zingy, energized feeling. I would highly recommend this product to everyone. Since only tiny amount needed each time, one tub can last around 3-3.5 months even if used daily.

Dot & Key Skin Cleansing Steam Balm is an amazing makeup remover which removes stubborn makeup easily. Those who don’t wear makeup also, I would recommend using this for deep cleansing and preventing clogged pores. It would improve skin texture in the long run. I really like how the brand has combined the nourishing properties of macadamia nut oil and argan oil with refreshing and energizing properties of neroli and lime. And the packaging is something I will never throw away. Highly recommended product from me!
