Review of Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil

Hi all,
Nowadays, the climate is really cold here in Bangalore. Night times are so cold that I need two blankets and a sweater. Also no amount of body lotions are working on my dry feet. Even body butters alone are not enough. So I am applying a layer of body butter followed by another layer of castor oil!Β ???? Only then I can sleep peacefully without any itchiness. Do let me know how you are tackling dry skin problems this winters and any tips on the same ????. Today am going to review one more product from Auravedic. If you had read my previous posts, you would know how much I love Auravedic as a brand. Not only are their products formulated with ayurvedic recipes, natural ingredients and effective, but they are also very pocket-friendly. I have already reviewed Auravedic Aloe Vera Gel, Ritual Skin Lightening Mask, Anti-Blemish Face Mask and Pure Lightening Skin Polish. Do check out these reviews because all these products are affordable and effective as well. So now let’s see Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil. Does it really help in lightening skin? Read on to know more.

For the past 3-4 months, I have totally skipped body lotions and been using body oils only. When I spotted Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil in Amazon, I didn’t know whether it was a face or body oil. But the price was very affordable, so I thought of giving it a try as a body oil.

Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil is golden yellow in color (maybe due to the presence of turmeric) and has a light, non-sticky consistency. It has a very mild nutty scent of coconut oil (not the one you get in Parachute. But from virgin cold-pressed coconut oil) combined with a subtle hint of fruity. I actually like the scent very much. Am sure all of you will love it as well. Its not the typical herbal, strong smell of oils.

I have been using Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil for almost 1.5 months now. I mainly use it on my arms and feet. I don’t use it on face since I have acne-prone skin and coconut oil clogs my pores. This contains coconut oil as one of the ingredients. My arms are heavily tanned and there is also some pigmentation. I just wanted to even out my skin tone and get brighter skin on my arms and feet.

I use Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil twice a day, in the morning and evening. This is one of the lightest oils that I have ever used. For those who are starting to incorporate oils in their daily routine, this is a safe option. You won’t feel any oiliness or greasiness as the oil gets absorbed super quickly. It can be used in summers also due its light texture. Initially on applying, it feels so soothing and relaxing on the skin, similar to how we feel when we apply pure virgin coconut oil. A warm shower followed by the application of this shower oil! That’s all you will need for these winters! I also like to apply it whenever I exfoliate my skin or do waxing as it feels so soothing and calms my skin.

My hand care routine includes applying a ubtan on my arms, rinsing off and then applying Auravedic Skin Lightening Oil on my damp skin. With regular use, my skin feels like silk. So smooth, soft and glowing. It also nourishes my skin and all dry patches and itchiness have been taken care of. Regarding its claims of skin lightening, don’t expect a big miracle. It does even out skin tone a little and works to an extent on pigmentation. But being a natural, ayurvedic product, you need to be patient to see the results. I could see some visible changes only after using for a month. Also for the oil to work better, it needs to penetrate into your skin better, so I would suggest you to use an ubtan along with this to deep cleanse skin properly.

Now it is going to be nearly 2 months and still there is some left in the bottle. I am happy with my skin now. It is healthy, nourished and complexion has improved. If you are looking for an affordable oil which is also lightweight and effective, do give this a try.

Ingredients analysis:

The three main ingredients of this oil are saffron, turmeric and winter cherry. Saffron and turmeric are well known for their skin lightening and glow giving properties. Winter cherry, also known as ashwagandha in ayurveda, helps in the production of vital compounds and proteins for healthy skin such as hyaluronan for skin hydration, elastin to keep the skin supple and collagen for skin strength. Apart from this it also contains licorice extract, orange oil, lime oil which also help in skin lightening. Chamomile oil and vitamin E oil help to soothe and calm the skin. So overall, it has a very impressive ingredients list.
