Aloe vera gel is a magical ingredient in skincare – for all skin types, for all seasons, for both men and women. Today I will review an organic aloe vera gel from a popular brand Rustic Art. I have already reviewed Auravedic aloe vera gel and done a comparison among various aloe vera gels available in the market. Rustic Art is slightly pricier than Auravedic but has it own set of pros. Let’s move on to the review of Rustic Art Aloe Vera Gel.

Rustic Art has lot of variants in aloe vera gels
– Aloe vera gel with lemon extract – all purpose aloe vera gel (Rs.200 for 100g)
– Aloe vera gel with orange & cinnamon – for non-sensitive skin (Rs.290 for 100g)
– Aloe vera gel with peach & avocado – for supple skin (Rs.300 for 100g)
– Aloe vera gel with papaya – for toned skin (Rs.300 for 100g)
– Aloe vera gel with lavender – for skin repair (Rs.320 for 100g)
I got the variant Lavender in one of my Globox. The color of the aloe vera gel as you can see is lavender in color (obviously a food grade color which is not needed). It has a mild fragrance of lavender essential oil, not very overpowering.
Rustic Art Aloe Vera Gel has a medium consistency, not thick like the Auravedic and Bipha Ayurveda one. It has the thinnest consistency of all aloe vera gels I have used. Even Aroma Treasures and Brihan’s Green Leaf is slightly thicker than this.
Rustic Art Aloe Vera Gel is very hydrating (water based aloe vera) as well as moisturizing (oil based vitamin E) due to the presence of vitamin E. On applying, it takes some time to get absorbed completely. You can instantly feel the soothing and relaxing sensation. It tones skin, tightens pores and heals sunburn and inflammations.
Rustic Art Aloe Vera Gel makes skin smooth, soft and supple. It gives a glowing skin with continuous use. Though it is mentioned for dry skin, all skin types can use it. But dry skin type will be especially benefited by it due to its hydrating properties. The other aloe vera gels I have used weren’t so rich. I don’t have any wrinkles, so can’t comment on that, but with regular use, I find it has smoothed out fine lines on my forehead. Though it claims to fade blemishes, I haven’t noticed any effect on that. It also works well to subdue mild acne and prevent breakouts.
Now, let me tell you how I use it. Rustic Art Aloe Vera Gel can be used in many ways – as a day time moisturizer (I have dry skin, so I need to apply another moisturizer on top of it. Oily skin people can just use this), as a face pack mixed with lemon essential oil for skin brightening, for mixing with face packs and hair packs and also as a leave-in serum for hair. Since lavender and vitamin E are both beneficial for hair, there is no harm in using it for hair care.
But my most favorite way of using Rustic Art Aloe Vera Gel is like a sleeping mask. Yes, its true. I like to apply a thick layer of this aloe vera gel on my face, wait for some time to get absorbed and then go to bed. And believe me it works wonders. When I wake up in the morning, my skin looks bright, glowing, well hydrated and rested. I have tried expensive sleeping masks like Vichy Thermal Spa one. But all it had was filled with silicones which forms a layer on my skin and gives the fake appearance of a smooth skin. But Rustic Art Aloe Vera Gel penetrates deeper into the skin and provides nourishment and hydration into the deeper layers. Use it like a sleeping mask every night and you will get glowing, smooth and soft skin.
Coming to the ingredients list, I am happy that it contains organic aloe vera. Another interesting fact is that it contains a natural preservative called TCLS which is based on turmeric oil, clove bud oil, lemongrass oil and sesame oil. Also all Rustic Art products are USDA certified organic, handmade, vegan, not tested on animals and PETA certified. Also do you know Rustic Art doesn’t use palm oil in their products? Their website says “Rustic Art cares for its environment. Our concern for our planet is bigger than our concern for business hence we do not use palm oil in any Rustic Art products as it is leading to de-forestation due to un-sustainable plantation and harvesting”.
Does it satisfy all its claims?
Yes, it satisfies all its claims except, I haven’t seen much improvement on blemishes.

Great review ???? costly but its a must-have product ❤❤
How to apply it??
Just cleanse and tone your face and apply a thin layer of the gel. If you wish to use as sleeping mask, apply a thicker layer 🙂
