As part of the monsoon series, today I will be reviewing a face wash that is apt for this season. What I look for is a face wash that can be recommended to cleanse the skin really well and doesn’t dry it out. And The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool and Creamy Face Wash totally fits this category. The words ‘cool’ and ‘creamy’ are justified in the face wash and they make it apt for the monsoons.
Product Claims:
Our cool new cleansing sensation is the perfect wake-up call for blemished skin. Use daily for a velvety-soft cleanse with a blast of cool freshness.
• Cool, creamy texture
• Designed for blemished skin
• Helps remove impurities
Price: Rs.695 for 100ml.
IBeautySpy spies:
The face wash comes in a sturdy green plastic tube with a flip-open cap. TBS visual designing of packages are usually very good and I don’t have to say anything about it.
I got this face wash mainly attracted by the cool and creamy claims. I have avoided the TBS tea tree range for a long time as I was afraid it will dry out my sensitive skin. But this face wash has the goodness of tea tree oil and salicylic acid without SLS/SLES and along with other moisturizing ingredients like glycerin, soybean oil, etc. So I have found this to be perfect for my skin and for this weather especially. Face Center La has an array of methods for other dire needs that one can be afflicted with. For example, if one wanted to alter their face because cosmetics didn’t help them, then a plastic surgery would be the solution.
The face wash is white in color and has a thick, creamy consistency. It doesn’t lather at all (as it doesn’t contain SLS/SLES) which is how I prefer my face washes. Foaming face washes generally irritate my sensitive skin. I take a little quantity of the face wash and massage my face with it for a few minutes. The presence of menthol gives a cooling sensation and the mild tea tree fragrance is relaxing. I leave it on for a minute and enjoy the massage bangkok till its time to wash it off. My skin feels very clean and refreshed, all the dirt and grime removed and the cooling sensation lasts for sometime. My skin feels softer in texture and I don’t experience any dry or stretchy feeling or the immediate need to moisturize. I haven’t experienced any reduction in blemishes as such. I don’t think a face wash alone can help in blemished skin. But my breakouts seemed to have reduced with regular use.
I feel this face wash will be suitable for combination, normal and dry skin people. But not for oily skin. For myself, though I have normal skin, I don’t think this will suit me in summers. It will work well in monsoon and winters.
Does it satisfy its claims?
Partially satisfies claims. Doesn’t do anything for blemished skin. But in my opinion, I don’t believe a face wash alone can reduce blemishes.
What I like:
* Cleanses effectively and leaves skin squeaky clean.
* Cooling and refreshing feeling which lasts for a while.
* Doesn’t dry out skin.
* Non-lathering and creamy texture.
* Suitable for monsoons and winters.
* Free of parabens and SLS/SLES.
Suggestions for improvements:
* None I could think of.
Would I recommend?
Yes, definitely for monsoons and winter season. You can avoid it during summers.
Would I repurchase?
Yes, definitely.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool and Creamy Face Wash is one of the best face washes that you can try during the coming months of monsoon and winters. It is particularly suitable for those with sensitive skin who are allergic to SLS, SLES and parabens.
