Hi all,
Hope you are doing good. If you know me, I mostly use only natural, SLS free face washes. I have blogged about a number of such SLS free face washes. Check out my cleansers tray. Now you may ask why I got these Lakme Blush and Glow ones. Well, it was an impulsive purchase ????. I had gone to the nearby supermarket to purchase some stuff when I spotted this entire Blush and Glow collection in a pretty packaging. I had already used the old version of Lakme Fruit Blast Strawberry Face Wash and it was one of the face washes that I had used when I joined my first job and earned to buy my own beauty products ????. At that time, buying Lakme seemed like a proud moment for me as earlier I had used only Himalaya and Fair & Lovely face washes. So coming back to the present, I had this nostalgia and old memories when I saw these new improved versions of the same face wash. Also I was getting bored of using my regular SLS free face washesΒ ???? So I was tempted to pick this. So does the Lakme Blush and Glow Face Washes really give you a blush and glow? Read on to know more.

Packaging:
Starting with the packaging, all the face washes come in a pretty, color-coded squeezable tube packaging. The gel variants have transparent tube while the cream ones are opaque. I like the way they are color-coded according to the fruit to easily distinguish them.
Texture and fragrance:
All the face washes have a medium thick texture. The peach gel and the strawberry gel have some fine granules as well. The pomegranate is a clear gel though. They are colored according to their respective fruits. The fragrance is moderate and artificial. I found the fragrance of peach a little strong compared to the rest and I didn’t like it.
Performance:
All these face washes lather up crazy like a detergent. I am going to list them down in the order of least favorite to most favorite.
Starting with the Peach Gel variant, it is the least favorite of mine. Why? ‘Coz it dried out my skin very much and caused a stretchy feeling. It might suit oily skin types though as it takes away all the dust and impurities and gives a fresh, clean face. The fragrance is very artificial and I found it overpowering.
Next least favorite is the Strawberry Creme variant. I was particularly looking forward to this face wash, reading its claims of a strawberry smoothie and got very disappointed ????. Though its a cream face wash, it is not meant for dry skin. It dried out my skin more than the gel variant. The fragrance is kinda okay.
Next one is the Strawberry Gel variant. Like I said above, I used this previously years ago and found it pretty much the same even now. It imparts a cooling sensation on application which I don’t get in the other gel variants. It also has tiny granules but they don’t do anything as they are very sparse. The fragrance is good like strawberry but has a little artifical thing. It is a decent face wash that cleans your face effectively and good for all skin types.
My most preferred variant is the Pomegranate Gel variant. Why? Because it is the least drying of all the face washes. The texture of this face wash is somewhat sticky and it sticks to the skin while applying and takes a good amount of rinsing to get off. I find this to be a moisturising face wash. After washing, my face felt good without any dryness. It also cleanses skin well. The fragrance is mild and not bothering.
None of the above face washes gave any blush or glow. I would rather say my homemade oatmeal and rose petals face wash performs lot better in giving blush and glow ????.
But if you ask me to recommend one face wash from the above list, I would say the Pomegranate Gel variant. Pomegranate has lot of anti-ageing benefits. It contains certain compounds which stimulate the production of collagen. There are very few products in the market containing pomegranate extracts. So this pomegranate face wash is a good budget try. I don’t know if a crΓ¨me version of the Pomegranate one is available. I haven’t seen it in stores or anywhere online. Let me know if you have seen. Also while the strawberry variant has a scrub and mask as well, but I haven’t see a mask in pomegranate variant. Hope they launch it soon.
Does it satisfy its claims?
No, it doesn’t give any blush and glow as claimed. Just cleanses effectively.
What I like?
* Cleanses skin effectively.
* Contains fruit extracts of peach, strawberry and pomegranate which are good for skin.
* Comes in both gel and cream variants. Also has scrub and mask in the range.
* Pomegranate face wash feels moisturizing on the skin.
* Affordable.
* Easily available in stores and online.
What I don’t like?
* Contains SLS and foams crazy like a detergent.
* All variants except pomegranate dries out skin and cause stretchy feeling.
* Wish the pomegranate variant had a mask as well.
Would I recommend?
If you are okay with SLS in face washes, I would recommend only the strawberry one and pomegranate one. Peach one is total waste.
Would I repurchase?
I might repurchase the pomegranate variant if I get bored with SLS free face washes π
Value for money?

If you are someone looking for a SLS/SLES free face wash, I wouldn’t recommend this. Sulphates are harmful for the skin in the long run. However, occasionally, if you run out of your face washes or you are on a trip and forgot to bring a face wash, you can pick this up from a local store and treat your skin to some fruit goodness. But I wouldn’t recommend it for regular use. And of course, don’t expect it to give any blush or glow!
