Is fall impacting your glow? Yes, it is. Is there something you can do about it? Yes, there is. Simple! Well, not too simple, but still pretty easy and quick to get used to, especially if you take your skincare obsessions way too seriously to pass up on some good advice.
This fall, it’s all about keeping that bronze, sun-kissed glow on or – if you didn’t even get a tan during summer – keeping your skin healthy and glowing, as it should be at all times, regardless of the season.
In this article, we’ll be discussing our favorite tips collected from all around (read: experts’ opinions we had enough luck to catch on the go) and we’ll pass on the wisdom to all of you gorgeous queens. Ready? Okay!
Get religious about exfoliating
Exfoliating is one of the key beauty routines to get used to, no excuses! Why? With a change in temperature (especially when we’ve got different temperatures in the house and outside), our skin reacts by slowing cell turnover, resulting in dead skin building up and zapping your glow. Treatments like chemical peels such as a chemical peel in Concord, NC or skin ceutical micropeel twice a month will help your skin win back its healthy, fresh glow.
Layer it on in the a.m.
Before using any moisturizer in the morning, make sure you apply an antioxidant-rich serum and make this a ritual you’ll try not to pass. Your skin’s natural repair system will speed up with regular antioxidants application and actively work on preventing all the damage caused by external skin-stressors, like weather and pollution. When browsing through a range of products to find the one that works, make sure it contains ingredients such as collagen-boosting pomegranate and brightening vitamin C.
Upgrade your moisturizer
Fall weather conditions, like dry heat, cold air, and wind, are brutal on the skin; this is why you need to turn to rich, buttery creams that will not only protect your skin from the external torture, but help you get your former glow back. Choose creams with hyaluronic acid. For additional hydration, you can combine it with treatments such as a facial, which you can get at services like Radiant Skin – hydrafacial treatment.
Sweat a lot
Although socially unaccepted (especially for girls and women), sweat is the best way to get rid of unwanted impurities from our skin. If not dealt with in time, these impurities can lead to clogging, acne, discomfort and other skin-related conditions. The best way to get those impurities out is to become a regular at the gym (or wherever you like to exercise) and sweat, sweat, sweat! An added bonus? Your body will be banging! Naturally, if you are not the one to care about exercising much and are one of the “quick fix” girls, there are always nip and tucks, the fantastic on-trend liposuction and our beloved mesotherapy.
It’s only natural for your skin to look better if the blood circulation around it is well-stimulated.
Wash after exercising
Yes, sweating is fantastic, but not washing after exercising? Not good. Don’t forget to get into a shower when you are done working out and get the sweat and salt off. What happens if you don’t wash? All the sweating was for nothing – the impurities got released, but if you don’t remove them and just let them sit on your face and entire body, you won’t achieve that beneficial effect of exercise.
Forget about tanning booths and spray tan products
Having a bronze, sun-kissed tan is absolutely beautiful, but forcing it at all costs, i.e. staying for too long in the sun, going to tanning booths or using tan products, won’t do you any good. So, use a cream with a high SPF before you decide to do anything even remotely connected to skin exposure to the sun.
Change your diet
Remember how many times you’ve heard someone say “you are what you eat”? Ah, neither do we – there have been too many occasions when we’d roll our eyes at anything even remotely similar and just keep on munching on our cupcakes. All jokes aside, a diet change is the best thing you can do for your health, your appearance, your lean figure and healthy skin. Even though it’s fall and our body craves stronger food, try to deny yourself trashy treats and treat yourself to veggies, fruit, A LOT OF WATER, lean meats and nuts.
