Hi all,
Am back with another review of a new brand Tvakh. I can’t believe that already two months are over in the new year. Time flies so fast ????. I haven’t taken any resolutions this new year. Lately, I have been under a lot of stress due to job change and my father’s health. Am now just taking one day at a time. No future plans or anything for now. What are your new year plans or goals? Would love to know your goals and milestones ????
Coming back to the post, today I will be reviewing a much needed product for winter – a body butter. I recently won this in a contest – Tvakh Pomelo and Kokum Velvet Touch Body Butter. Let’s move on to the review.

The body butter comes in a simple, plain tub packaging. There are no mention of ingredients list or product claims on the packaging. However, when I contacted the team, they promptly replied with the ingredients list. The product is free from parabens, sulphates, GMO, phthalates and petroleum oils.
After reading the label of the product, I started googling for Pomelo as I have never come across it before. It’s a citrus fruit very similar to grapefruit. Like all citrus fruits, it is rich in vitamin C and also beta-carotene.
Tvakh Pomelo and Kokum Velvet Touch Body Butter is pure white in color and has a pleasant, lightly sweet, fruity fragrance. The fragrance is so mild, so even if you are not a fruity fragrance lover, it won’t bother you. It’s just a soothing and refreshing mild sweet smell.
Tvakh Pomelo and Kokum Velvet Touch Body Butter has a light, whipped, fluffy consistency. After using many body butters from TBS, The Nature’s Co, etc, which are generally thick, I find this consistency very unique. It is like low fat fresh cream that you get in shops. I won’t say it resembles a body lotion as this has a more whipped fluffy texture.
Tvakh Pomelo and Kokum Velvet Touch Body Butter is not just moisturizing but also provides hydration to the skin. I have already talked in my previous post about how moisturization and hydration are two different things. The former refers to oil balance and the latter refers to water balance. If you find your skin is dark and dull even after using body butter, it’s probably due to lack of hydration. Body butters are made mainly from butters and oils and only good for moisturizing. But Tvakh Pomelo and Kokum Velvet Touch Body Butter provides both due to addition of fruit extracts.
Once I apply it, my dry skin drinks it all up. Since it’s light, it gets absorbed easily making skin smooth and soft. True to its name, the texture of the cream is velvet soft and also makes your skin velvet soft and happy ????
I usually like to apply this during day as it’s light and non-greasy. For nights, I feel the moisturization is not enough and I need a more nourishing body butter. If you have very dry skin, you can mix this with a few drops of any oil and use it.
Apart from containing Kokum butter which is great for nourishing skin, it also has 100% natural pomelo fruit extracts which makes it a fruit butter.
When I first heard the name Tvakh, I wasn’t much sure about the brand and their products. But after using this body butter, I find its of high quality and can feel the product is made of natural ingredients instead of just fillers like beeswax, silicones, petroleum oils etc. It does contain beeswax, but in a very less quantity as its mentioned towards the end in the ingredients list and not simply a filler like in drugstore brands. Am excited to try out the other products from the brand.
The only one thing that bothered me slightly was that the pomelo extract was only mentioned towards the end of the ingredients list, so the quantity of it in the product could be less.
Does it satisfy all it’s claims?
Yes, it satisfies all its claims.

Nice review, but why is the texture like lotion and not body butter…
It is not exactly like a lotion. Little thicker than that. Like fresh cream from milk. I actually like it. But it won’t be a good option for very dry skin.
Nice, honest review. I think it will be good for my skin in summers. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Shreemayee 🙂
It’s consistency looks more like lotion but it sounds good though, great review 🙂
Thank you Aditi 🙂
I just thought the same as Sonali, why does it look like a lotion when it says body butter. And since I have very dry body skin, this might not suit me. Very well reviewed.
It looks like a lotion, but it has a whipped consistency like a body butter…
LOvely review…I would love to try this 🙂
Thank you 🙂
This sounds like a great product. Some body butters are so thick, this looks like the right consistency.
