Hi all,
Today, am going to review one more product from the ayurvedic brand Blue Nectar. I already reviewed their honey face wash which gave awesome results. In this post, I will be reviewing their hair oil for hair growth which is made out of 9 vital, ayurvedic herbs. I have used both Forest Essentials Bhringraj Hair oil and Kama Ayurveda Bhringadi oil and so can compare this with them. Read on to know more.
Product claims:
Brigantantadi means Bringadi, Anantmool etc. On an average people lose between 50-100 hair strands each day. This is quite normal because new hairs grows to replace that is lost. However, there are times when too much exposure to unhealthy conditions such as heat or chemicals causes hair to fall out.
Briganantadi hair repair treatment oil has three advantages – arrest hair fall, avoid premature graying and prevent dandruff. In addition it cools the head and is natural conditioner for lush hair growth. Bringraj is natural rasayana and promotes hair growth. Amla provides vitamin C to hair and arrest hair fall. Also helps as natural conditioner and has anti dandruff properties. Mulethi is licorice and helps in curing spot baldness in male and female. Malkangani is useful for sharpening the memory and increasing intellent. In all, 9 vital herbs help to promote lush hair growth, prevent hair fall and prevent premature graying and provide anti dandruff treatment.

Since its dry and cold weather here in Bangalore, I love massaging my head with hair oils. I usually do an oil massage twice a week. Previously, I used the Forest Essentials Bhringraj Hair Oil and loved it and have also reviewed it here. I have also tried the Kama Ayurveda Bhringadi Treatment. This is a similar ayurvedic hair oil for hair growth containing the goodness of not just one, but 9 vital herbs.
The oil is brownish in color and has a very light consistency almost water-like. Kama Ayurveda one has the thickest consistency as it is blended in milk. Forest Essentials has a light consistency and this hair oil from Blue Nectar has even more lighter consistency. The smell is ayurvedic but mild and somewhat similar to the Kama Ayurveda one.
I warm some oil in a bowl first and slowly massage my scalp with it. Finally, I apply some on the lengths and my dry ends. It does not feel heavy or greasy at all. So I leave it overnight. Normally when I use thick oils like coconut oil and leave it overnight, I use to get pimples on my forehead. But with this hair oil, I haven’t faced any such issues.
Next day, I wash my hair and the oil gets washed away easily in a single rinse. I don’t even feel the need of applying a conditioner. My hair feels well nourished, soft and smooth. My ends are usually dry and prone to extreme frizziness. But after washing, there was no more dry ends, just soft curls. After using it continuously for a month, I can say, it has also made my hair stronger and hairfall has reduced a lot.
The effects of all 3 hair oils Forest Essentials, Kama Ayurveda and Blue Nectar are almost the same. But Blue Nectar comes at the lowest price. So if you want a good ayurvedic hair oil for hair growth, but don’t want to splurge on Kama Ayurveda or Forest Essentials, I would highly recommend you to try the Blue Nectar Briganantadi Hair Repair & Treatment Oil and enjoy similar effects at a lower cost.
Does it satisfy its claims?
Yes. It promotes hair growth and reduces hairfall. But I can’t comment on the anti-dandruff or premature greying since I don’t have any of these issues.
What I like:
* Light and non-greasy texture.
* Nourishes hair deeply.
* Conditions hair making it soft and smooth.
* Reduces frizziness and dry ends.
* Makes hair stronger.
* Reduces hairfall and helps in hair growth.
* Contains goodness of 9 vital herbs.
* 100% natural and free from mineral oil.
Would I recommend?
Yes, definitely and definitely for everyone.
Would I repurchase?
Yes, definitely.
Value for money?
Its little expensive compared to other hair oils. But since the results are effective as Kama Ayurveda and Forest Essentials ones, the price is lower compared to them.
