Monsoon Series – Review of The Nature’s Co Cool Cucumber Body Lotion

As part of the monsoon series, today I will be reviewing a body lotion that am currently loving and that is apt for this season. Monsoons are a tricky period. There is humidity when it rains, but you can also feel dryness after it stops raining. So we can’t go with the very light body lotions that we use in summers, nor very thick body butters that we use in winters. In that aspect, The Nature’s Co Cool Cucumber Body Lotion is perfect for this season. Read on to know more.

IBeautySpy spies:
The lotion comes in a pretty square transparent bottle with a flip-open cap. Though a square bottle is bulky, I find it refreshing from the boring round bottle designs. ????

My first thought on applying this lotion was that the texture felt very different from the regular Nivea, Vaseline body lotions. Yes, this doesn’t have silicones which give you a smooth, slippery feel unlike regular drugstore brands body lotions. Instead, it is infused with the goodness of natural moisturizing ingredients like vegetable glycerin, olive oil, kokum butter and vitamin E. I can feel it right when applying The Nature’s Co Cool Cucumber Body Lotion that am not slathering myself with chemicals but with the goodness of natural moisturizers.

The lotion has a medium consistency more on the runny side. The fragrance smells exactly like fresh cucumber pulp and I love it. If you are someone who like the fresh scent of cucumbers, you will love it. Else, you might feel it too strong.

The lotion spreads easily and gets absorbed quickly, moisturizing the skin adequately. The moisturization effect lasts for around 12 hours during this season. I apply twice daily, in the morning and night. It doesn’t leave behind any oily or greasy feeling. I think it can be suitable for summers as well in Bangalore and winters in Chennai. It might not be moisturizing enough for Bangalore winters, and it will be too heavy for Chennai summers. Though its mentioned for normal to oily skin, I think it mainly depends on the weather. It is a medium moisturizing lotion, perfect for this monsoons. My skin feels healthy and nourished with regular application.

The best and most important thing that I like about the lotion is that it feels very soothing and cooling on applying. Usually, when I do waxing I tend to get itching, irritation and small bumps. I applied this lotion after my waxing session and it really soothed and calmed down my itching and irritations and no small bumps appeared. I was really surprised and impressed by this. If you have sensitive skin, you definitely need to give this a try for its soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.

The only con that I find in The Nature’s Co products is that they don’t mention the full ingredients list. They have mentioned only Lotion Base in the ingredients. Especially in current times where people are more aware of harmful ingredients and hesitant to buy products with missing ingredients list, why don’t they come clean with full ingredients list? From the texture of the lotion, I can feel it is free from silicones and parabens. But why don’t they list that out so that everyone knows for sure and can buy with assurance? A lot of my friends avoid The Nature’s Co products simply for the missing complete ingredients list. I wish The Nature’s Co take this into consideration.
