Monthly Empties and Favorites – May and June

Its been one month since my blog started. Time flies so fast! Am thinking of having a giveaway ????… What do you folks think?
So, coming back, I thought of doing a monthly favorites and empties post. Don’t be scared seeing too much products!Β ???? I am listing down empties for both May and June today and there are a whole lot of sample products in it. So lets move on:

empties_1
empties_2

Garnier Frucits Oil In Cream: I have used upto 3/4th of this. But stopped using it now as it caused heavy hairfall. Warning alert! It contains loads of silicones. Don’t even think of replacing your oils with this.

Za Total Hydration Fresh Foamy Cleanser: This face wash is a Vogue Beauty Awards Winner of 2015 and now I know why. I won this in a contest and totally loved it. It cleansed my skin well without drying it and made it soft and bright. Suitable for all skin types and all seasons. Sadly, I heard Za has moved out of India and so we can’t repurchase this anymore.

Plum Choco-Latte Luxuriant Body Lotion: I don’t have any words for this. Just luxury in a bottle. Dunk yourself in choco-latte and be happy. My most recommended product in the list. Will repurchase for sure.

Just Herbs Rejuvenating Beauty Elixir Facial Serum: One of the best serums I have used till date. Will repurchase. Detailed review will be up on the blog soon.

Lotus Herbals YouthRx Youth Activating Serum + Creme: It slightly irritated my skin. Will post a detailed review soon.

Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Whitening+ Sunblock Creme SPF 30 PA+++: This is a new sunscreen launched by Lotus Herbals. There is no whitening effect or anything. But its a good sunscreen just like any other Lotus Herbals sunscreen. It does leave a whitish cast sometimes on dry skin. So I don’t think I will repurchase.

Lotus Herbals Safe Sun Whitening+ Active Tan Prevention Creme SPF 50 PA+++: This is similar to the above sunscreen, but tinted. And it has been a nightmare for me as the tint started melting with the sweat. A big no for me. But those who like tinted sunscreens might like this.

Nature’s Essence Lacto Tan Clear: This is a tan removal cream which I purchased when I came back tanned badly from a vacation and it works decent enough. Might purchase again if I face severe tanning.

Za True White Cleansing Foam: This is a good face wash for oily skin, although it made my skin very dry. I like the above Total Hydration variant better.

Gulnare Seaflo Face Wash: This is one of the best face washes I have ever used. Totally handmade, natural and organic. Going to try more of their products. Review coming up soon…

Garnier Ultra Blends Revitalizing Shampoo 5 Precious Herbs: Am glad that a drugstore brand has finally come up with a paraben-free shampoo. But looking at the ingredients list scared me. First is SLS and second is dimethicone (silicone). I washed my hair 2-3 times with it and throwing out the remaining. It caused me hairfall as am allergic to both SLS and silicones.

Patanjali Divya Gulab Jal: A decent enough rose water at a very affordable price. Better than the Dabur and Banjara’s one. I like to use it for mixing my face packs. For my face, I like the Fabindia one better.

Votre Botanical Toning Mist: I got this in my Envy Box and liked it. It refreshes my face instantly and had a nice, clear fragrance. Votre products are made from 100% botanical extracts and am looking to try more of them.

Fuschia Face & Body Exfoliating Scrub Pomegranate Pearls: I will be reviewing this one. One of the best body scrubs I have used.

Sand for Soapaholics Hair & Glory Hair Conditioner: I already mentioned this in my hair care routine. Will be doing a post on this soon.

Bipha Ayurveda Aloe Gel: I have been wanting to try a colorless, fragrance-less pure aloe vera gel for a long time. I got this in my MSM Box and believe me, this is one of the best aloe vera gels I have used. It hydrates my skin, reduces dark circles, smooths out fine lines and gives a nice glow – all in one product.

Bio Bloom Under Eye Gel: I didn’t like this. Used it a few times, but it irritated my delicate eye area. Possibly due to the presence of mint.

Vasocare Herbal Lip Balm: Got it free for something. Regular, boring lip balm. I finished it up by using on cuticles, hands and foot.

Kama Ayurveda Darbari Meditate Massage Oil: Good for a nice, relaxing massage. But expensive. Will review it soon.

Samples:

The Nature’s Co Bearberry-Liquorice Whitening Cream: I have mixed feelings about this cream. It moisturized my skin well and made it so soft and supple. I felt like touching my skin again and again. I loved this cream and thought of buying the full size. But then it caused little irritation and small bumps on my forehead. I think there is a high concentration of some of the natural ingredient which causes the irritation.

BioBloom Age Defying Serum: Decent enough serum for oily skin. Water based and gel type. It firms up the skin and makes it smoother. But I like the Just Herbs one better, though its costlier.

Za Perfect Solution Restoring Collagen Cream: This is a good moisturizer for dry skin. Za products are really good. Sad they left India.

Kama Ayurveda Sanobar Hair Conditioner: I have mentioned this in my hair care routine and love it. Will try other shampoos and conditioners from the brand.

The Nature’s Co Marigold Body Lotion: It is a light, non-sticky lotion with a mild floral fragrance.

Plum Grapeseed & Sea Buckthorn Nurturance Night Cream and LightStay SPF 30 Day Cream: This is a good day cream and night cream for combination skin. Strictly for combination skin only. As dry skin people may find it not moisturizing enough and oily skin people might sweat with it. It worked well for me in Bangalore, but in Chennai I started sweating more with this and it blocked my pores.

The Nature’s Co Watercress Hair Cleanser & Hair Conditioner: My first set of hair care products from the The Nature’s Co and I liked it. Bought full-sizes already.

Wella Elements Renewing Shampoo and Mask: This range is supposed to be paraben free and SLS free. I loved the shampoo. Its one of the mildest shampoos I have ever used. But the mask contains silicones and it caused me hairfall. I am throwing away half of it.

Spa Ceylon White Jasmine Hand and Body Milk: I loved the calming jasmine scent of this. But sadly it didn’t suit my very dry skin. Its not emollient or moisturizing enough.

Natural Bath and Body French Red Clay Mask: A normal clay mask. Nothing extraordinary except for the fresh, earthy fragrance.

Natural Bath and Body Vitamin E Whipped Cream: It was little oily and it didn’t suit my skin much.

So, friends, these are my May and June empties and favorites. Which products have you tried in the list above and which ones have you liked? Do share your monthly favorites too.
