How I Take Care of my Hands | How to get Beautiful, Tan-free, Soft, Glowing & Youthful Hands

Hi all,
Today’s post is a slightly different kind of post. Recently I started noticing my face and hands were a different color. While my face looked bright and glowing due to rigorous skin care that I have been following, my hands were tanned, darker, dull, dry and rough. I panicked on noticing this since I have read that hands and eyes are where the first signs of aging shows. Maybe these were the first signs of me aging ????. So I started dedicating time to take care of my hands in the same way I take care of my face – by following a proper CTM routine and other stuff. After a month of following this routine regularly, I can observe the color of my hands are relatively lightened, tan removed and they appear brighter and also soft, supple, glowing. So today am going to share the routine with you guys so it is beneficial to you too as who don’t want beautiful, youthful hands. Let’s get started.

My Evening Routine

Let’s see my evening routine first as that’s when I spend more time for my hands.

Removing sunscreen:
Since I use a water-proof sunscreen for my hands in the morning, I need to use a cleansing milk to remove it in the evening. I use the Plum Hello Aloe Gentle Cleansing Lotion which I use for my face too. I just take a dollop of the cleansing lotion and massage it on my hands for a minute and then wash off.

Cleansing:
The second most important step is cleansing. My hands are very much tanned, so I thought of using my face wash itself instead of a shower gel. I apply Greenviv Sandalwood and Turmeric Face Wash on my hands and arms, lather it up and then wash off. Since it contains sandalwood and turmeric it helps in brightening skin and removing tan.

Scrubbing:
Thrice a week, I use a body scrub for my hands to exfoliate and remove dead cells. My favorite is the Spa Ceylon Forest Trail Body Scrub which contains a whole lot of skin-friendly ingredients like organic lemongrass, eucalyptus, patchouli, peppermint, cedarwood, vetiver, cardamom, margosa, gooseberry, walnut, virgin coconut and honey. It is a creamy formula with perfect scrubbing granules and makes my hands smooth and soft.

Masking:
Just like we apply face packs, we also need to apply body packs once in a while. Twice a week, I apply a mask for my hands. I use Alanna Naturally Beautiful Golden Glow Face Pack which helped in removing most of the tan from my hands and making it lighter and glowing. Sometimes, I alternate it with Beauty Secrets Premium Anti-Tan Face Pack which is in powder form and I mix it with curd. This is one of the most important steps in taking care of your hands as it helps in beautiful and youthful hands.

Toning:
I know this sounds strange. But I started applying toner on my hands as well. I know! Desperate measures to get back youthful hands! I use Greenviv Rose & Geranium Face Toner which is a gentle, hydrating toner. I pour some on a cotton swab and swipe my hands with it.

Moisturizing:
After toning, I apply Auravedic Kumkumadi Oil for moisturization. If you haven’t tried Auravedic Kumkumadi Oil, I would highly recommend you to. It is very affordable and so can be used for your body as well. Retails for just Rs.250. Why buy a Nivea or Vaseline lotion when you can get Kumkumadi oil for the same price! This has helped a lot in making my hands soft, nourished and supple. If you are seeing aging signs on your hands, grab this immediately. On some days when its too hot to use oils, I use my own DIY Tan Removal Cream.

So that finishes the evening routine. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but if you see, I just apply whatever products I use for my face, some extra on my hands as well. No separate products or anything. Would just take extra 5 minutes of your time ????.

My Morning Routine

Morning routine for my hands is fairly simple.

Shower Gel:
I use Ayorma Fairness & Anti-Tan Clear Body Wash on my hands while showering. It is a paraben-free and SLS-free formulation.

Moisturizing:
I then apply Tvakh Pomelo and Kokum Velvet Touch Body Butter which has become my favorite body butter nowadays. Makes my hands really velvet soft.

Sun Protection:
Finally, I apply VLCC Hydrophobic Sunscreen Lotion SPF-50 PA+++ with Raspberry Seed Oil. I never step out without sunscreen. This sunscreen is also water-resistant so I don’t have to bother about it getting washed off while I wash my hands.

So ya, that’s it guys. Follow this regularly and you will get beautiful, soft, glowing and youthful hands in a month. You can use any products of your choice according to your budget, Nutrisystem cost, or use the same products you use for your face so you can save time. I’ve never really applied masks on my hands much. But they desperately need them now – they’ve gotten quite tan this year.

I have been tanned so bad after my visit to Goa. I was in hunt for home remedies to get rid of tan & I tried using lemon for tan removal on my legs & hands. You can also read more on how to remove tan from hands using home remedies.
