7 Things Girls with Good Skin Do Before Bedtime

We all know at least one girl that matches this description; flawless complexion, blemish-free and radiant skin. We all envy this girl. Ok, we’re completely green with envy at the sight of this girl. After we pass the point of envy we go straight to the state of confusion and inquisitiveness – how does she do it? We think we’re doing all the right things; we the Cadillac of skincare products, we try to eat as healthy as possible, but something just isn’t clicking. Well, the secret lies in the pre-bedtime routine, and those girls we’re so jealous of know that the ultimate tricks for an awe-worthy skin are revealed at nighttime. In our efforts to give you the inside scoop so you too can have that air-brushed looking skin, we’ve done some digging and this is what we found, so read carefully and take notes.

Double up

One thing you may not have been aware of, and it’s one of the crucial nighttime skincare steps is a double cleanse. The dust, the dirt, and the day you’ve endured – it’s all there on your skin and it needs to disappear. If you skip this step, then you’re bound to wake up to pesky unwanted acne and clogged pores, and this is definitely not on your wish list. Use a quality cleanser and then a face wash suitable for your skin type, and make this step top priority.

Age is not just a number

Despite the popular saying that age is an illusion or just a number, gals with great skin beg to differ. That’s why they start using anti-age cream, preferably something retinol– based, as retinol is as close to the fountain of youth humanly possible. Now, why would a young person use night cream, one might ask. Well, it’s because they know what’s good for them and they know it’s never too early to start fighting wrinkles off. Gals, you know what to do, go hunting for that retinol cream ASAP.

Always be prepared

Before you get your beauty sleep, you should always be prepared. Beauty sleep is a real thing, and according to WebMD, 7 to 9 quality hours each night will help you reduce wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles and provide you with that glowing morning complexion you crave. So, in order to get your quality snooze time, make sure your affairs are in order prior to going to bed. That means selecting your next day wardrobe the evening before. Always make sure you have an abundance of casual as well as dressier, office-friendly women’s tops in your wardrobe arsenal. This will make getting ready in the morning a whole lot easier. Lay down a great top, a blazer, skirt and accessories on the chair and then you won’t have to sacrifice those precious thirty minutes on frantically looking for something to wear.

Just water for me, please

Instead of that last drink before heading home, girls graced with great skin replace the nightcap with water. One of the key ingredients to truly healthy skin from within lies in hydration. We all know how important optimal water intake is, but few of us actually uphold the 8 glasses a day rule. This is the time to start. If you’re slacking during the day, before you go to bed and set your alarm, make up for the lost water. Your kidneys and your skin will highly appreciate it.

Scrub a dub dub

Dead cells be gone! Dead cells are one of the most vicious enemies of glowing skin. They clog the pores and make the skin look dull and dry. Skin cells shed naturally every 28 days, but sometimes they tend to stick around. To keep these dead cells moving, use an alpha-hydroxy acid-based cleanser at least twice a week, which will leave you with glowing, smooth skin, since the acids in cleansers reach deeper into your skin’s layers than physical scrubs, (and don’t cause inflammation and irritation), hence resulting in an even and glowing complexion. And if you are having skin problems then Cholley Skin repair is what I consider the best choice as it just works so well.

Skin’s favorite positions

This is a trick few would ever have guessed, but the position you sleep in is actually very important for your skin. If you fall asleep on your stomach or side, pillows and sheets can leave indentations on your face. What’s worse, research shows that over time, applying pressure on your face can lead to wrinkles; for instance, if you always sleep on your right side, the right side of your face is likely to develop more wrinkles. Sleeping on your back is the solution. Not only does it keep your face from touching any surface, but it also props your head up just so to keep fluids from pooling under your eyes and creating unsightly bags. CBD for the skin has been spoken about for a while now, and various possible benefits derived. Even a simple hemp beauty cream for your face may be worth your while.

Cleanliness comes first

Sure, you clean your face, but do you clean the tools that touch your face? Makeup brushes and tools are filled with bacteria and when left unwashed for a long period of time, the bacteria will just end up on your face, and that in turn will lead to zits, blemishes and irritation. See how often your makeup tools need to be cleaned, do it the night before, and when you wake up, they’ll be looking at you, sparkling clean and worthy of touching your precious face.
